I cannot help but like this helmet. It's hard to find a fiberglass helmet for around 100 dollars. The shell graphic and finish look very nice, and it felt very comfortable on my head. I have a 62+ cm oval head and the XL seemed to fit very well. I was really excited about this helmet when I found it and determined that it's basically an Aikido. However, I have ordered two of these helmets so far. The first helmet seemed to have been dropped in shipping, the next helmet arrived with the box and contents in good condition. That said, after trying on the helmet and looking at it closely I noticed that the outer fiberglass shell along the top edge of the vision opening (above the left eye back to temple area) seems to hang out too far, it does have the rubber trim, but it doesn't align with the interior padding correctly. It looks like it wasn't made correctly and got out to be sold. Since the other helmet I got prior also had a defect in that same area (I had figured was shipping related) I have decided I am going to try another brand of helmet. That said, I really like this helmet and I still feel conflicted about my choice. I am almost inclined to try another one, but I am not. The other thing that helped me make up my mind was when I noticed what looked like dust (pic) it turned out the be the foam padding showing through the fabric. Mind you it hardly shows, BUT this is supposed to be a brand new quality helmet. Maybe they are just getting too old, or maybe I just had bad luck. I'm not sure. In the end though I still gave it 5 stars because had I gotten a good one I would have been 5 stars happy and both of the vendors I dealt with were available to help and made a solid effort to respond, etc. So I dont fault them directly, I just decided this probably isnt the helmet for me.I have included some pictures of what I am trying to describe. The padding has a black fabric which looks to be crumbling from age or something around the lip of the helmet (the edge of the rubber has bits of it stuck from the ages it appears. The other pictures are of each side of the helmet. The fiberglass shell is supposed to be flush with the plastic tabs that hold the liner in place. As you can see one side has about 1/4" of fiberglass sticking past any sort of padding, other than the rubber lip. However, along the same area of the opposite side its flush like it should be. Anyway, pretty sure this is a manufacturing defect. What ever the cause of these issues it isn't what I though I was going to be getting.
